Bridgeport Public Transport is an independent student research project under Honors Program at Housatonic Community College. The project is developed, carried out and finalized by myself under the guidance of professor David Koch. The general idea of the project is to search for and later suggest any possible improvements in public transit system for Bridgeport area (Bridgeport, Fairfield, Stratford and Trumbull). This project is also developed in cooperation with Greater Bridgeport Transit as our major public transport company. GBT can, but is not required, to apply the results from this project into their services. All information will be presented at special event at HCC in December and on this website.

Objectives: There are two major tasks for this project. First one is my personal research focused on public transport activities in some similar cities in the US and Europe. This includes comparing the prices connected with public transit services in different locations and their projection into our local conditions. The second one is a public survey focused on collecting ideas from GBT riders. The ideas from other cities combined with suggestions of the bus riders should serve as a core material for this project. I believe GBT will include at least some results of the project into their future plans for improvement of the services in our area.
